Checks stay on your device
Vira reads text and QR codes from camera input or images you choose and checks text and links on your device. It does not upload this content for analysis, retain camera recordings, or save a separate copy of your selected image. If a selected image is stored in iCloud, Apple’s photo or file picker may download it before Vira reads it.
Session information
Submitted text, findings, discovered service names and addresses, and room labels are held in app memory. Use Clear submitted content & network results to remove them from the current session. Vira does not send this information to a server. Network discovery sends local service-discovery requests on the network you choose to inspect.
Saved Safari settings
Your custom blocks and exceptions, and rule settings are stored locally for Vira and its Safari extension. The current configuration and one previous configuration are retained for rollback. These files are excluded from backups.
Removing a domain changes the active rules; the previous configuration may still contain it. Clearing a check session does not erase saved protection settings. Vira does not record Safari browsing history or blocked-page activity.
Use Reset saved Safari configuration in Vira’s Privacy screen to remove custom domains, and current and previous configurations. Vira then asks Safari to load empty rules. If Safari cannot apply the change, disable the extension in Safari settings to stop its previously loaded rules.
Permissions and controls
Camera and local network access are requested for features that need them. You can decline access or change permissions in system settings. You control Safari extension enablement in Safari settings. You can edit active blocks and exceptions in Vira, pause configured rules, or disable the extension in Safari.
This version has no Vira account, cloud analysis service, advertising, or analytics SDK.
Website hosting
When you visit Vira’s website on GitHub Pages, GitHub records and retains your IP address for security, including when you are not signed in to GitHub. Vira adds no analytics, advertising, forms, or external scripts to these pages. Website hosting is separate from the app’s on-device checks.

External links and support
Recovery and support links open only when you choose them. Those websites and your email provider then apply their own privacy practices. Selecting the support email link opens your email app; it does not send a message automatically.
Our support mailbox uses Gmail. If you email us, we and Gmail receive the sender details, message, and attachments you choose to send. Correspondence is kept in the support mailbox to handle your request. Contact us about access or deletion of correspondence we hold. Copies in your email account or provider systems remain subject to their controls. Do not send passwords, verification codes, or unnecessary private content.
